All right, everyone the moment of truth is upon us and Community Week NYC officially launches in less than a week.
I gotta say, Iâm super excited about all the amazing activities that are scheduled to happen for more importantly, all the 100+ communities that believe in this city-wide initiative and have signed on to participate in helping New Yorkers to rediscover their city through their social interests and ultimatelyâĻeach other.
Run clubs, board game meetups, intentional dinners, screening societies, art walks, literally anything you can imagine is likely part of this historic movement of social activity.
Now, we need YOUR help.
Please help us to spread the word of Community Week far and wide so we can encourage as many people as possible to explore everything that will be happening in the next week and a half.
Simply do a IG post or story linking to www.communityweek.nyc and tag @communityweek.nyc
Do it in any way you feel like it.
Thatâs it.
In doing so, youâll help ensure we get the word out and help NYCâs social fabric thrive.
I hope youâll join us to make this first ever Community Week NYC a success!
Thank you and look forward to seeing you around in about a week!

NYC Community Week is happening May 9th to 17th. And if you know someone, a friend, a colleague, a favorite local organizer, who should be part of this, please send this email their way. That's literally how community works.
Along with our new poster, we now have an official Community Week NYC Instagram page and a fresh logo to match.
Give us a follow at @communityweek.nyc and that's where we'll be announcing new communities joining the lineup, upcoming events and all the latest news as we build toward May. It's the best way to stay in the loop and watch this thing come together in real time.
This isn't another event calendar. It's the first citywide proof of concept that when New Yorkers gather with intention, something extraordinary happens.

A bakerâs bonanzaâĻ
Two friends, Amy and Cindy, who met in college and shared a love for the kitchen, even if they came to it differently. Amy grew up as the go-to baker, comfortable with recipes and technique. Cindyâs experience was more about togetherness baking alongside her sister, where the process mattered more than the outcome.Â
But for both, the intention was the same: create a nostalgic space where people could spend time together in a way that felt natural, warm, and have some fun while doing it.
That is the origin of Kitsby Studios, a culinary studio with its growing community of creatives that began with hands-on baking classes and workshops.Â
From "character" pineapple cakes to Korean-style lunchbox cakes and matcha treats, the experiences are designed to be hands-on approachable, aesthetic, and just a little whimsical.
Predictably, this intimate creative environment produced more than just pastries. It wasnât just the desserts that people remembered, it was the conversations and camaraderie. Strangers became friends over shared tables and whisked batter. And it became clear that Kitsby was home to more than just culinary confections, it was about connection.
Today, Kitsby has evolved into a broader creative playground for adults, designed with the spirit of incorporating such activities into everyday life.Â
Alongside their workshops, they host dessert swaps, dinner parties, game nights, and other social experiences that make it easy to show up, participate, and feel part of something. They also partner with brands and companies to bring that same sense of connection into team-building events and activationsÂ
At its core, Kitsby is about reclaiming play. It offers a reminder that joy, creativity, and connection can still be simple. Sometimes, all it takes is a table, a few ingredients, and an open invitation to join in.
For those interested in exploring what Kitsby has to offer, you're in luck.
Kitsby's community comes to life in their upcoming Stay In Bloom Night Market, a vibrant, open-air gathering designed to celebrate local flavor and connection on May 29th 4pm - 10pm. Hosted by Kitsby in collaboration with Stay In Bloom Festival, the night market brings together a curated mix of local food and beverage vendors, inviting guests to wander, taste, and discover the people behind the offerings.
Though this event will not be held at the Studio itself given its size, (the event will take place in Industry City outdoors), the spirit of Kitsby will be on full display. The evening blends the energy of a night market with the warmth Kitsby is known for, creating a space that feels both dynamic and welcoming. Expect everything from street food staples to inventive specialty bites, alongside moments of surprise, including appearances from festival collaborators and headliners like Dabin, who is known for cultivating a deeply loyal community around his events.
More than just a place to eat, the night market is designed as a kickoff to the festival weekend
With thousands expected to attend and tickets FREE to the public, itâs an open invitation to step into Kitsbyâs world and get lost in the brilliance of the experience.
